Orientation 2010 JET Departees

The time of year has come again to start preparing new JET departees who are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime in Japan. There are 6 JETs leaving from Canberra to Japan on 24 July 2010. JETAA Canberra Inc will once again assist in the pre departure orientation for these lucky people. If you would like to be involved or for more information contact Kate Price on kateeprice.

The next O-shaberikai is scheduled to be held on will be held on Wednesday, 7 July 2010 at Coo Izakaya Civic from 6pm onwards. For those who don’t know, the O-Shaberikai is a very informal monthly get-together where Japanese people staying in Canberra can meet Australians who have some interest in Japan.

Lawson to offer freshly cooked food as convenience store competition heats up

Convenience store chain Lawson will soon start an in-store fresh food service across Japan, in an effort to attract a wider range of customers. With the new service, customers will be able to purchase freshly cooked food by store clerks or choose from a variety of daily dishes offered in a buffet style to make their own meals, Lawson Inc. officials said.
