Field trip to Young – Cherry Picking

Cherry Picking Trip
Who likes cherries?  Who likes eating cherries for free?  As a member or friend join Canberra JETAA’s day trip to Young, NSW to sample some fine cherries.
Young is a small country town about 2 hours drive north west of Canberra famous for its cherries.  The day trip involves meeting for lunch in Young followed by cherry picking and eating.  You only have to pay for the cherries you take back home.
At this stage we are still sorting out transport options and the possibility of a picnic lunch.  If you would like to register your interest please email locus_a@hotmail.com with the subject Cherries and your name.

Details:
When: Sunday, 6 December 2009
Where: Young, NSW
Cost: Free

O-Shaberikai

The next O-Shaberikai will be held on Wednesday, 2 December 2009 at the Holy Grail in Civic from 5.30pm onwards.  Please do come along if you can.

For those who don’t know, the O-Shaberikai is a very informal monthly get-together where Japanese people staying in Canberra can meet Australians who have some interest in Japan.  As it is informal, you’re not bound by time constraints so turning up late or leaving early is not a problem at all.

Please note there will not be an O-Shaberikai in January 20101.

Dates for your diary

Friday, 5 February 2010 – Shinnenkai

More information will be forthcoming closer to the date of the event.

News from Japan

More on rent-a-mate.  Cat cafes now provide punters with quality time with professional pets – and that is just the tip of a deeply sad iceberg:
